Not on a Flush Draw

$500 + $60 NL

Medrano Makin' Things Happen

George Medrano (Rego Park, NY) is a physical therapist who's giving his table a workout.

With A 10, Medrano makes a button raise and gets an early position caller. The flop is A♠ K♣ 9and Medrano calls a pot sized bet. "I figure he's on a flush draw," says Medrano, who had two final tables, and two 11th place finishes at Borgata Poker Opens last year.

The turn is a non-spade and the player fires out another pot size bet. Medrano goes with his read and makes it 15k more and his opponent tanks. "I'm not a flush draw," he says while moving all-in.

Medrano makes the call and is in great shape against A 7 and takes the 50k pot when a blank hits the river.

"A lot of loose play," says Medrano, who's increased his starting stack three fold to 75k, "definitely more loose than tight."

Medrano with chips isn't something the field wants to see. Expect to be hearing more from him throughout the tournament.

Level 4 (100/200) continues.
